Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice using the Kangaroo Method Care in Maternal with Low Birth Weight Babies

Newborn mortality is still quite high in the world, including Indonesia, one of which caused by complications premature birth. Kangaroo Method Care (KMC) way to keep newborn’s body temperature warm making direct contact between baby’s skin and mother’s skin. The purpose this study was analyze relationship knowledge, attitude, practice for mothers with low birth weight (LBW) infants. This a quantitative cross-sectional approach. Respondents were who had LBW after treatment from Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Koja, North Jakarta domiciled Tanjung Priok, Cilincing Districts, Jakarta, amounting 50 people. Data collected using questionnaires observations, analyzed Spearman Correlation statistical test. Based on results study, average score knowledge about 21.76 (SD 1.06); attitude towards 26.74 0.80); duration 2.92 hours/day 0.90). it found that most practiced holding right position Care. test, there mothers.
